THE EVER-CHANGING LANDSCAPE OF NIL

With the NCAA's introduction of name, image, and likeness (NIL) opportunities for student athletes in 2021, NIL collectives have begun popping up all over the United States. However, due to how rapidly NIL has grown, there aren't many rules in place to regulate them. Currently, Kansas Senator Jerry Moran is working on legislation to reign in NIL and establish national guidelines. We wanted to explore and document this ever-changing landscape of NIL before it changes once more. Our stories focus on the progression of NIL on K-State's campus and its impact on athletes, students, and businesses.
